"There are lots of ways I could share the news. I could tell you I'm above the 99th percentile. I could tell you that I'm four standard deviations from the mean. I could tell you that any significance test reveals me to be far from an average student."

Parent: "99th percentile? You failed the test!"

Student: "Yes, and 99% of my peers failed it less completely."
